About
Bristol Youth Offending Team work with children and young people aged 10 to 17 to try and prevent them offending and re-offending.
There are two voluntary roles available at Bristol Youth Offending Team:
Community Panel Members facilitate meetings to help young people (10-17) take responsibility for their actions and thereby reduce the risks of re-offending. Panel members meet with the young person, their parent/carer and YOT worker to agree an intervention of work that the young person will do with the Youth Offending Team. This will include restorative justice.
Appropriate Adult volunteers work with young people who are detained for interview by police. If a parent or carer can’t be there, the volunteer gives guidance and support, and makes sure the person’s rights are met.
