What is it that you love about living in your neighbourhood that could help others make them love theirs even more? We want to see every Bristol neighbourhood be the best it can be and think that sharing ideas around what works is a great way to start.

Got an idea that springs from this question? Perhaps you have experience or knowledge you could share with others? Start sharing and connecting with others by clicking ‘Add an Idea’

Hi both, thanks for your comments and offers of support.
Have you registered to support the volunteer effort though Can Do? https://candobristol.co.uk/activity/coronavirus--covid-19-%5Bofficial-volunteering---register-interest-w-bristol-city-council%5D After you register via the above channel you will be sent a short volunteer survey to fill in. Then you will be added to a growing list of volunteers that the city will be able to call on in the coming weeks and months. I love that my neighbours stop and chat to me, my partner and my daughter when we are coming in and out of the house!

I love the diversity of my neighbourhood, and the fact that I have got to know lots of people from different walks of life that live on my street and the streets around. I also love knowing that if I ever need anything, I can call on my neighbours and they will help me out.

What changes, big or small, could be made to your neighbourhood to make it a better place for older people to live and socialise?

Trevor Johnson | 3 months ago |

street seating, wider pavements, speed tables, zebra crossings, clusters of on-carriageway cycle parking

I love my community in Windmill Hill and know many people there, and it makes me feel happy, safe and supported.

I would love to see people everywhere connecting with their neighbours who live on their street which is why I had the idea for startwiththestreet.org There is a downloadable flyer and step-by-step instructions for how to start your own Street Group as well as lots of other resources. Please take a look and if you like it, start your own Street Group and share the idea and website widely!

We need to know there are people there for us within 100 metres away, not just during this crisis but always!

Love "Start With The Street’s " #ViralKindness mission and inclusive approach - also super useful resources like the connecting with your neighbours flyer.
